The Developing Women for Skills and Opportunities Initiative (DWOSO), supported by Amplify Change, recently hosted a transformative event focused on educating and empowering individuals from minority groups about consent. Led by Dadzie Naffixa Afua, DWOSO’s Communications and Monitoring/Evaluation Officer, the session covered essential topics such as different types of consent, factors influencing it, and dispelling common myths. Participants gained valuable insights into asserting control over their sexual and reproductive health decisions, emphasizing the importance of mutual respect and informed choices in daily life.

The Developing Women for Skills and Opportunities (DWoSO) Initiative has launched the Ringleaders Project in the Sekyere East District of the Ashanti Region, targeting girls’ prefects from local schools. Aimed at nurturing leadership abilities and fostering confidence, the initiative gathered 55 girls from 22 schools. Led by Beatrice Antwiwaa, DWoSO’s Community Outreach Lead, the project focused on leadership principles, communication, conflict resolution, and goal setting. Participants expressed gratitude for the opportunity to develop essential skills, positioning them for future leadership roles and contributing to community progress.
