Through this partnership, DWoSO works to advance gender justice, strengthen girls’ leadership, and create opportunities for young girls to thrive, lead, and shape their futures.

Voices of Our Moment is a podcast series supported by the African Women’s Development Fund (AWDF) that creates a platform for women, girls, activists, and community leaders to share stories, experiences, and solutions on issues affecting gender equality and social justice in Ghana and across Africa.

Support My Voice, supported by CIVICUS, empowers women and young people to actively participate in civic engagement, advocacy, and democratic processes. The project strengthens community voices and promotes inclusive participation in decision-making at local and national levels.

The Consent Matters Project

The Consent Matters Project  is supported by Amplify Change.

It addresses sexual violence in Ghana by educating on sexual consent and SRHR. Engaging communities, men, and boys, it promotes a culture of respect through workshops, media, and sustainable mechanisms.

The Ringleaders Project empowers young girls by developing leadership skills, fostering personal growth, and building self-esteem.

It redefines leadership, promoting positive change and ethical leadership principles.

Lead Against Silence

Lead Against Silence, supported by the African Women’s Development Fund (AWDF), works to prevent and respond to gender-based violence by strengthening survivor-centered advocacy, promoting awareness, and empowering communities to challenge harmful norms that enable violence.

The Women Accelerate Progress (WAP) Project, funded by the African Women Development Fund.

One Skill Reduces Poverty (1SRP) empowers rural Ghanaian women and girls with essential skills.

Vote4women is a visibility platform by DWoSO Initiative and Sisters Diary.

empowering women in politics by highlighting their achievements, providing resources, and organizing events to promote gender-balanced representation and leadership.

SustainHER

SustainHER empowers young Ghanaian women entrepreneurs by providing training, technology solutions, and visibility.

It addresses barriers like limited resources, business knowledge, and digital access, fostering sustainable economic growth and gender equality in targeted regions.

GESI Space

GESI Space by DWoSO Initiative used Twitter Space discussions to promote feminism and volunteer capacity building.

Topics included mental well-being, rural women’s roles, young feminists, gender-based violence, and women’s portrayal in media, fostering dialogue and raising awareness on women’s rights and gender equality.

Girls Mentorship

The Girls Mentorship Project by DWoSO empowers basic and junior high school girls, introducing them to feminism, leadership skills, and gender equality.

Involving boys, it fosters support for girls’ rights, challenges norms, and raises awareness about child marriage, promoting an inclusive, equitable future.

Clean Period

The CleanPeriod Menstrual Hygiene Project by DWoSO raises awareness on menstrual health, fights stigma, and educates on sexual and reproductive rights.

It targets students, teachers, and community members, promoting sustainable menstrual products and empowering women to manage their menstrual health with dignity.

WoWASH

WoWASH (Women in WASH Leadership) empowers over 300 rural Ghanaian women in the Central and Western Regions to lead water, sanitation, and hygiene initiatives. 

Through sensitization, training, and advocacy, it promotes gender equality and community development by enhancing women’s roles in WASH leadership.
