SustainHER

SustainHER is a transformative project that aims to empower young Ghanaian women in business by equipping them with the necessary tools, resources, and knowledge to succeed. Recognizing the unique challenges that women-owned businesses face in Ghana — particularly related to access to education, resources, and technology — SustainHER takes a comprehensive approach to address these barriers.

Through training, visibility initiatives, and technology solutions, the project seeks to create a supportive environment where women-led small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) can thrive. Training programs cover business management, financial literacy, marketing strategies, and access to markets.

SustainHER also collaborates with media outlets to promote the achievements and stories of young women entrepreneurs, challenging stereotypes and highlighting success stories. Access to technology and digital platforms is addressed directly — the project supports setting up online platforms, e-commerce websites, and digital marketing strategies, and offers digital literacy training so women entrepreneurs can leverage technology effectively.

The project establishes networks and partnerships with business support organizations, financial institutions, and mentorship programs, providing access to finance, business advisory services, mentorship opportunities, and networking events.

SustainHER targets women-led SMEs in business for 6 months to 2 years, entrepreneurs aged 18–35, operating in the Central, Ashanti, Western, Western North, and Greater Accra regions of Ghana — aiming to create sustainable economic opportunities for young women at the community level.
