International Day of the Girl Child is a day created to empower girls and help them to understand their rights so that they can face the challenges all over the world and meet their needs. it is also a day set aside globally, to focus on the problems and challenges faced by girls, which are an impediment to their well-being and achieving a better quality of life. The celebration of the day helps girls to; • Lead as a generation of activist accelerating social change, • Learn new skills towards the future they choose and • Live free from gender-based violence and harmful practices.

The theme for this year’s commemoration is “Digital generation, our generation” It is for the above reasons that DWoSO Initiative wants to spread awareness and change mindsets, create a safe environment for girls through education and advocacy.
