More than 35 individuals from a minority group have gained essential skills to start their own businesses through a collaboration between the Developing Women for Skills and Opportunities Initiative (DWOSO) and the Accra Central Municipal Assembly. This initiative, supported by the African Women’s Development Fund (AWDF), focused on training participants in soap making and pastry creation.

Participants were taught various soap making techniques, including the production of liquid soap, bleach, and after-wash products. They also acquired expertise in baking 13 different types of delicious pastries, such as cakes, doughnuts, meat pies, chips, biscuits, fish pie, and homemade jam.

The program aims to empower women from minority groups by imparting entrepreneurial skills and knowledge. By producing and selling their own soaps and pastries, these women can generate income to support themselves and their families.
